![]() ![]() ![]() I know this was also the case for the rerelease of All-Stars as a stand-alone game on the Wii. In fact, Nintendo themselves seem unable to perfectly emulate the original sound chip on the SNES, which is why a few of the Wii VC and SNES Classic ROMs also contain PCM sound information to stay more true to the original. If I understand correctly, this has to do with how complex the sound chip was on the original SNES, and that it is difficult to accurately emulate. Mushrooms and pipes don’t sound quite right. One issue that All-Stars has with almost every emulator is sound. These remakes are near and dear to my childhood, and so to play them all again with the official controllers is an exciting prospect. With the impeding release of the ability to add ROM files to the SNES classic, one of my most sought after additions is Mario All-Stars.
